'Le Havre' wins Delluc Prize

PARIS -- Finnish auteur Aki Kaurismaki nabbed the Louis Delluc Prize for "Le Havre" inside a ceremony held on Friday in Paris. The film, which reps Finland inside the foreign-language Oscar race, bowed competing at Cannes and won the Fipresci jerk. Pic is provided with the Match Factory, and produced by Finland's Sputnik, France's Pyramide Prods. and Germany's The earth the planet pandora Film. The 3.8 million ($5 million) offbeat dramedy triggers Andre Wilms just like a shoeshine guy around the mission for help an African stowaway. "Le Havre" beat Valerie Donzelli's "Commitment of War," Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Celine Sciamma's "Tomboy," among others. Djinn Carrenard's "Donoma" nabbed the Louis Delluc prize for top first film. A romantic comedy produced by Donoma Guerilla, the pic was apparently made around the $200 budget. "Donoma" carried out at Cannes this season. The Louis Delluc honours were selected having a jury presided by Cannes Film Festival prexy Gilles Jacob, and made up of French film journos.
