Roman Polanski Attending Zurich Film Festival There’s one more reason Roman Polanski has came back towards the Zurich Film Festival, where he was arrested 2 yrs ago by government bodies who attempted unsuccessfully to create him to the U.S. to manage a 1977 legal rape charge. Following the festival presented its lifetime achievement award around the Oscar-winning director Tuesday evening, it offered in the surprise world premiere from the documentary Roman Polanski: A Movie Memoir, by which Polanski foretells friend and producer Andrew Braunsberg about his career, the murder of his wife Sharon Tate and the recent arrest.Laurent Bouzereau directed the feature-length docu. It had been in the 2009 Swiss festival, where Polanski was initially to to get the lifetime recognition, he was arrested — he never managed to get towards the fest, getting stopped in the airport terminal. He offered amount of time in jail and was under house arrest until he effectively fought against off extradition towards the U.S., making today’s return trip possible. (UPDATE: Polanski thanked everyone else after accepting his award Tuesday evening: “Better late than never,” he stated in the speech, based on Reuters. “It’s an unusual anniversary for me personally, 2 yrs, day for day. … Song from it I’d rather forget, however i’m pleased to be around. It's a very moving moment for me personally so not expect any speeches.”)
